So What Is GoldenFit Intuitive Training?!

We here at GoldenFit, as mentioned in our previous post, are all about intuitive training.
But what is intuitive training, and how is it different from the normal workouts I do every week? Intuitive training at its core focuses on learning how your body and mind respond to exercise and food and life in general, and then knowing how to make adjustments on the fly. Intuitive training shows you how to not be afraid of making necessary changes regardless of what you had originally planned. For example, you are in the middle of a sprint workout and feel an uncomfortable feeling in your hamstring (not the good type of tension), what do you do? Well mainstream fitness would probably say to push through it and get the last couple of sprints done. But, we here at GoldenFit, have a different approach.
The intuitive response in this situation would be to end the workout and stretch depending on severity or at most, substantially lower your run speed to finish the last couple of intervals, ensuring a proper cool down. Don’t fear deviating from the original planned workout when you intuitively know the better approach is to come back strong in the next workout rather than risk a pulled hamstring. This same intuitive concept can be applied to nutrition and many other aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
We will continue exploring the foundations of GoldenFit intuitive training in future posts. For now, don’t be be afraid to learn and make adjustments, even when the changes go against your original planned workout. Your body and mind send you signals for a reason, and the goal is to learn why and how to adapt. Of course we will continue designing workouts with specific sets, reps, and exercises.
